Hyundai IX35 2010

Now, Hyundai is widely recognised as one of the top 100 most valuable global brands and is ranked 72nd in the 2007 Best Global Brands Six years later, in 2004, the Hyundai was ranked second in initial quality. It was in 1998 that Hyundai had an image overhaul and established itself as a world-class quality brand with an intelligent and aggressive marketing scheme. Hyundai continued this trend of exporting cars to other countries, such as the United States, Ecuador and the Benelux countries. In 1983, the Pony was exported to Canada, with a significant amount of sales success, once topping the best-selling car chart of the Canadian market.

It was not until 1975 that Korea would see the production of their first car, the Pony, which performed well and put Hyundai into the public sphere. The Cortina was particularly popular in the UK, with each incarnation proving more popular than the previous. The first vehicle from Hyundai was the Cortina, released in cooperation with Ford, recently popularised by Gene Hunt in Life On Mars. Despite quite a short history and limited number of vehicles compared to other manufacturers such as Volkswagen and Toyota, Hyundai has secured its place as the world's fourth largest automaker by units sold. Hyundai, as a brand, was founded in 1947 as a construction company and it was not until 1967, that Hyundai Motor Company was created.

Hyundai has largely been dismissed for producing bland cars throughout its history, but recent years have seen a resurgence in quality manufacture and impressive vehicles, such as the ix35.
