Volvo XC60 Overview 2011


The Technology Package includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, driver fatigue alert, and Volvo's Collision Warning, which readies the The Multimedia Package includes an uplevel audio system, navigation system, and rearview camera. Among the available option packages are the Climate Package, which includes heated front and rear seats, heated windshield washer nozzles, and rain-sensing wipers. Leather upholstery and power front seats are optional on the 3.2 and standard on the 3.2 R-Design, T6, and T6 R-Design. Blind spot alert is optional.

It automatically activates the brakes at low speeds to avoid or reduce the severity of a rear end collision. Volvo's City Safety accident-avoidance feature is standard. R-Design models have specific interior and exterior trim, 20-inch wheels, and a sport suspension. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags.

Maximum towing capacity is 3,300 pounds. A 6-speed automatic is the sole transmission on all models. The T6 and T6 R-Design are AWD only and have a 300-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder, an increase of 19 horsepower from the 2010 model. All wheel drive is optional.

This represents a gain of 5 horsepower. The 3.2 and 3.2 R-Design have front wheel drive and a 240-horsepower 3.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine. Previously only offered on the T6, the R-Design is newly available on the 3.2. XC60 continues in base 3.2, uplevel T6, and sporty T6 R-Design trim levels.

This premium compact SUV seats 5 and shares elements of its basic design with the Volvo XC70 station wagon. The 2011 Volvo XC60 lineup gains a new trim level and more power.
